Harvey Stein (American photographer and lecturer) on the HOLGA 120S:
“You deliberately seek the anti-aesthetic, the feel of this strangely focusing HOLGA, sometimes gives you the sensation that the photographer must’ve been zooming through a vase of flowers in a drunken stupor. The goal is to capture an image that comes as close as possible to one’s subjective sense of the moment.
Photographs taken with my HOLGA 120S look completely different to all the others. This camera provides me with a totally different set of possibilities for expressing myself, and doesn’t just duplicate the stuff I can do anytime with other, more technically advanced, cameras.”
